Pelvic Health & Rehabilitation
From the core, from the spine, from the ‘meat on the bones’, from the base chakra, from the deep abdominals, from the pelvic bones, internal organs, muscles and fascia, from the soles of the feet touching the ground we pause, center, breathe, acknowledge, and accept.
When you work with the physical therapists at Pelvic Health & Rehabilitation, you get a combination of evidence-based therapeutic treatments and full-body mindful integration. We treat your core, pelvic floor, low back, hips, nerves, viscera, joints, soft tissue, and more with comprehensive care so your goals become our goals. Conscientiously treating your current injuries towards prevention of future injuries is integral to our practice. We will empower you towards self-awareness, physical well-being, and independence.

Approach
Take control of your health using an integrative approach that heals the whole person, not symptoms alone.
At Pelvic Health & Rehabilitation, we apply holistic principles to identify the root cause of your health concern and promote long-term recovery. Good pelvic health is key to many health issues and is often neglected when considering treatment options. That is why approaching physical healing from the pelvic floor and core is so effective; it treats the foundation first to establish a solid footing which in turn supports a healthy body.

Our Services
-
Bladder & Bowel Incontinence
The pelvic floor is like a sling that supports your bladder and bowels. Physical therapy to increase pelvic strength can reduce or eliminate urine and bowel incontinence. Women and men can both benefit from this type of therapy.
-
Organ Prolapse
Pelvic floor organ prolapse happens when the pelvic floor is too weak to hold the organs it supports. This condition can cause bulging or dropping of the rectum and bladder, and can occur in both women and men. Restoring the strength of the floor results in long-term relief and better quality of life.
-
Pre & Post-Natal
Pregnancy causes extreme strain on the pelvic floor, and about 25% of women experience pelvic floor issues. Pre- and post-natal physical therapy can prevent or alleviate many of the difficulties that pregnant or recently pregnant women experience.
-
Sexual Functioning & Pain
Pelvic floor muscles surround and support genitals and their functions. Too much or too little tension in these muscles can cause sexual dysfunction or pain during sex. There are many ways that physical therapy can help train your pelvic floor to supply the correct amount of tension to promote healthy sexual experience and performance.
-
Back & Hip Pain
A muscle called the obturator internus (OI) connects your pelvic floor to your hips. When the OI is injured, it can cause pain, tightness, or weakness. While OI injury occurs more often in athletes, anyone can experience these issues. Pelvic physical therapy helps repair the OI and fosters long-term relief.
-
Breast cancer Rehabilitation
Breast cancer patients have special physical therapy needs for recovery from mastectomy, lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. Improving range of motion and preventing or treating lymphedema (swelling caused by the removal of lymph nodes) are essential to the recovery process.

“I felt that Jennifer addressed me as a person and I could see the gears in her head churning to assess what the real issues were and how she could apply the best approach to remedy the problem. The impact from her support, expertise, dedication, compassion and pure passion to make a positive and long-lasting effect on my life will never be forgotten.”

“Jennifer was the first physical therapy specialist to take a serious interest in treating my pain due to scar tissue build-up after total hip replacement surgery. This had been my main complaint for over a month with other therapists, but they continued to focus on general strength and mobility-building exercises. Jennifer immediately worked on my soft tissue pain-related concerns while continuing work on the other areas and made major progress on my first encounter with her. After continuing working in these areas, she in short order got me feeling better than before the surgery. I highly recommend her to anyone needing a professional and very knowledgeable physical therapist.”
